Public schools and the Lagos State University (LASU) have complied with the directives of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) as primary school students were turned back when they got to their various schools on Monday.
A LASU staff who spoke on condition of anonymity said the staff were in total compliance, adding that few workers were on the campus.
“With the look of things, I may soon go home since nothing is going on on campus. Few workers are around and skeleton work happening”, said the Staff.
Meanwhile, primary schools in Abesan Estate in Alimoshi local government area were shut down.
Also, in Ojo local government area, the public schools were closed down and the pupils turned back at the entrance gate.
Similarly, the situation was seen in Oshodi/Isolo, Ikeja, Agege and other locations in the state.
At 9 am, some school children were seen returning home after their teachers failed to show up, while the entrance to the premises of the schools was shut.
